Twi'lek are the inhabitants of Ryloth known for their distinct tails forming out of the back of their skulls called lekku which they use as a form of communication by making slight movements with them. On Ryloth most Twi'lek lived in simple mud brick houses and as a species they lacked space travel of any form, as a way off of Ryloth some Twi'lek sell themselves into slavery, Twi'lek women are prized as slaves for their beauty and are usually used as dancers by many criminals. Ironically, the most wanted criminals of The Republic trat Twi'leks with respect.
