The Cybermen were once a human like race until they slowly started to transform themselves into cyborgs in an attempt at immortality. But this had it's flaws, they started to run low on energy and started removing all emotions and replacing them with cold logic. Soon they started taking organic being and using them as parts to make new and repair old Cybermen and add to the Cyberia, as they call their joint network. Although they are all linked they also can act as individuals.
